Animal Combination Design
This design explores the idea of merging animals to create a unique, fantastical creature. The initial rough sketch (left below) shows the early concept phase, where I tested different animal combinations. After deciding on the final creature, I transitioned to Photoshop to refine the design with a final rough sketch, including an environment to give context to the creature’s habitat. For the final version, I smoothed out the line work and used a cartoon brush in Photoshop, adjusting the line sizes to bring out details and give the design a polished, dynamic look.

Crowned Creature Doll
This illustration of the Crowned Creature Doll delves into the study of values, using shape and movement to convey the energy of the head and fur. I utilized pencils and charcoal to create a detailed range of marks, from soft shading to bold highlights, emphasizing the character’s form. Drawn on illustration board, the charcoal allows for deep contrast, enhancing the dimensionality and lifelike quality of the illustration.

Animal Portrait Combination Design
This Animal Portrait channels the timeless essence of ancient Egyptian art. The rough concept sketch on the left laid the foundation for the piece, while the final illustration above was meticulously crafted on illustration board. I began with pencil to outline the base design, then used a monochromatic range of blues in acrylic paint to create depth and emotion. The result is a captivating portrait that evokes the majestic, mysterious qualities often found in Egyptian representations of animals.
